Dehydrated skin
Dehydrated skin lacks sufficient water in the epidermis and feels tight, rough and dull — regardless of skin type.
Do you recognise this?
- Blemishes that keep coming back
- Uneven tone or texture, especially in daylight
- Skin that feels dull or tight
- Products that make little difference
- You would rather cover it with make-up
Do you recognise several points? That says nothing yet about what is needed — we assess that together during a consultation.
What is it and what causes it?
Dehydrated skin is a skin condition, not a skin type: even oily skin can lack moisture. The cause lies in a weakened skin barrier through which water evaporates too quickly. Causes include over-cleansing, harsh products, climatic conditions and insufficient water intake.
Signs of dehydration include fine lines that become more visible when touched, a tight feeling after cleansing, and a dull or flaky appearance. With the right approach, the barrier recovers quickly.

advice from the specialist
“Beautiful skin is not a treatment but a build-up. We start by understanding what your skin needs.”
