Enlarged pores
Enlarged pores are a common complaint that give the skin an uneven texture and occur more often with oily or combination skin.
Do you recognise this?
- Blemishes that keep coming back
- Uneven tone or texture, especially in daylight
- Skin that feels dull or tight
- Products that make little difference
- You would rather cover it with make-up
Do you recognise several points? That says nothing yet about what is needed — we assess that together during a consultation.
What is it and what causes it?
Pores are the openings of the sebaceous gland ducts in the skin. They become visibly larger when clogged with sebum and dead skin cells, when the skin loses firmness due to aging, or when sebum production is chronically elevated. Genetics play a major role in pore size.
Pores do not shrink permanently — that is a myth. However, effective treatments can make pores less visible by improving the surrounding skin structure and normalising sebum production.

advice from the specialist
“Beautiful skin is not a treatment but a build-up. We start by understanding what your skin needs.”
